Minesweeper Cheat (NOT AN EGG)
Requires: None
Hidden Game: 1. Enter Minesweeper, and type "xyzzy"(No quotes).
2. Press the left shift key.
3. Look at the top-left most pixel on the entire screen. To see this pixel,
you have to minimize or shrink Program manager, since this changing pixel
resides on the background wallpaper. When the pointer in on a mine the pixel
will turn
4. This cheat is known to work under Windows 3.1 and Windows for Workgroups
3.11, but it is belived that the minesweeper under Windows 95 was changed
and that this trick won't work.
Solitaire Cheat (NOT AN EGG)
Requires: None
Hidden Game: 1. Open solitaire
2. I always Play with settings:
3. Vegas, Keep score, Draw 3, Not timed game
4. Hold down "Cntl", "Alt", and "Shift"
5. Click on the deck
6. Instead of drawing 3, you get one but you can still go through the deck
three times.
7. You can't help but win money.
The Microsoft Bear
Requires: Windows 3.1 IN ENHANCED MODE
Hidden Game: 1.In enhanced mode, start a MS-DOS prompt.
2. Click on the System menu and bring up the Fonts page.
3. Look at the directory listing. Under WIN.COM, there should be a BEAR.EXE!
Of course,it doesn't really exist. Here is the story behind the "Bear"
In
Microsoft Jargon, a "bear" is a person who introduces a bug in a
program and has to hold back the release date until it is fixed in the Beta
Module. The bear is also featured inside the Product Credits screen as the
little fuzzy Teddy bear.
Windows 95
Bill Gates' Horse, Nugget
Requires: Windows 95
Hidden Game: 1. Start Windows 95.
2. Wait until you see the mouse cursor in the middle of a black screen.
3. Press in the following keys in this order (Do not type commas):
4. Ctrl, F6, Right shift, Delete, then click the right mouse button.
5. If you do it before the black screen is replaced by wallpaper, it shows
Bill Gates' horse, Nugget.
Solitaire Scoring Trick
Requires: Windows 95, Windows 3.1
Hidden Game: 1. Start up the Solitare game
2. Choose "Game," "Options," and "Draw three."
3. You can also put the scoring and stats on.
4. Type in "xyzzy" (without the quotes)
5. Hold down the Ctrl + Alt + Shift
6. Click on the deck of cards.
7. In newer versions, the "xyzzy" is not needed.
Minesweeper
Requires: Win95
Hidden Game: 1. Click on a square to get the timer going
2. Hold down both mouse buttons, and a 9 square indentation will appear
3. Hit the ESC key
4. Get the best time :)
True Type Fonts
Requires: Win95
Hidden Game: 1. Get property.zip from Microsoft's web site
2. Install the True Type Font Properties extension ttfext.dll
3. Restart windows?
4. start/settings/control panel/fonts/
5. Right click on Times New Roman
6. Select properties
7. Select Tab reading "TrueType Credits"
The Shadow Knows
Requires: Windows 95
Hidden Game: 1. Go to the start menu and click Help.
2. Click the tab marked Find.
3. At this point you may get a wizard asking you to set up Find. If you do,
use the defaults.
4. In the Find dialog box click Options.
5. Set the top section to: All the words you typed in order, set the next
section to: begin with the characters you typed.
6. Click OK to return back to the main dialog box, and enter in the top box
exactly: Who knows who built this tool?
7. Hold down Shift and Control while clicking the Clear button.
8. Click Options again, and set the top section to: At least one of the words
you typed, set the next section to: contain the characters you type. And click
OK to return back to the main dialog box.
9. In the top box enter exactly: The Shadow knows!
10. Hold down Shift and Control while clicking the Clear button.
Windows 98
Secret Freecell Games
Requires: Windows 98
Hidden Game: 1. Open FreeCell
2. Press F3 and enter either -1 or -2 into the dialog box and click okay.
Volcanoes
Requires: none
Hidden Game: 1. Goto control panel - display
2. click on screen savers tab
3. select "3D Text"
4. click on settings
5. In the graphics text box type "volcano" the screen saver will
show the names of volcanoes.
Eject your PC!
Requires: Windows 98. You NEED IE4, and it doesn't work on Win98 SE.
Hidden Game:
1.Press Start.
2.Then Programs.
3.Then Applications.
4.Right click on calculator, then properties.
5.Click change icon. Double click the normal calculator icon.
6.Press Ok.
7.Press Start.
8.Wait a couple of seconds.

Hearts Card Look (NOT AN EGG)
Requires: MS Hearts
Hidden Game: 1. Press Start Button and then press "Run".
2. Type "regedit".
3. Goto: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Applets\Hearts
4.
Insert a new String called "ZB".
5. Then Type "42" as String.
6. Start Hearts
7. Press CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+F12 to see the Cards of the others.
Reference to Wassily Kandinsky in Setup
Requires: Windows 98 setup files, any text editor (like Notepad)
Hidden Game: In the actual Windows 98 setup files, there is a file called
"DOSSETUP.BIN". If you look at the contents of this file with Notepad,
Wordpad, DOS's EDIT, or any other text editor, you will find the following
phrase near the end of the file:
Wassily Kandinsky was the great Russian painter who participated in the Expressionist movement in Germany, taught at the Bauhaus, and edited the Blue Rider Almanac.
